I’ve been looking for a maths book like this for a while - so pleased I came across this book。 It’s a nice rhyming story for those who just want to read it, but the maths challenges involved make this book brilliantly interactive。

I will confess that I ended up more into this book than Miss 4。 I liked that the author anticipated that parents would be determinedly tallying legs in their head and provided the answer at the end of the book!Miss 4 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes。 We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors。 I will confess that I ended up more into this book than Miss 4。 I liked that the author anticipated that parents would be determinedly tallying legs in their head and provided the answer at the end of the book!Miss 4 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes。 We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors。 。。。more

Fun, but problematic as it is impossible to know how many legs the centipede had。。。 Certainly 100 is rather unlikely, which is what was needed for the answer。

I have used this for school assemblies of hundreds, small book groups and parents groups。 Learn it, play it right, kids of all ages will find it funny and annoying。 Helps to have Haribo on stand by for the winning / closest team。

Loved this book- it's a "non-counting" counting book with wonderful, lively pictures, great rhymes and fun animals。 And it's a party! Who wouldn't want to go!? I did the math。

I love this booooooook。 This is such a great counting book。 I am thinking of ways to read this book with a flip chart or felt board to count all the legs。 There may be some arguments about what constitutes a "leg" though - does a frog have 2 legs or 4? This could spark some great discussions。 Kind of excited to read this one with kids! A delightful book about counting, though I completely forgot about counting because I was just so curious to see what creature would join next。 And to see what they would do, or bring。 :PLuckily the answer to the question is given at the end。 It is quite a lot。 Lovely illustrations, which fit the book perfectly。 I love how the creatures and the main character were drawn。

This is a brilliant and funny counting picture book about a very crowded party full of very unlikely multi-legged friends! “How many legs would it make if a duck arrived with a lemon cake?” As more hilarious animal characters arrive and join in the fun (a polar bear, a hippo, a frog and a kangaroo, to name a few), the readers are encouraged to count along how many legs are at a child's party。This book is beautifully illustrated by Jim Field and is suitable for EYFS and early KS1。 It can be used This is a brilliant and funny counting picture book about a very crowded party full of very unlikely multi-legged friends! “How many legs would it make if a duck arrived with a lemon cake?” As more hilarious animal characters arrive and join in the fun (a polar bear, a hippo, a frog and a kangaroo, to name a few), the readers are encouraged to count along how many legs are at a child's party。This book is beautifully illustrated by Jim Field and is suitable for EYFS and early KS1。 It can be used across the wide range of subjects: English (shared, guided and independent reading; teaching about poetry and rhymes), Numeracy (counting, addition/subtraction), PSHE/P4C (to teach about friendship and diversity), art (drawing), geography and science (animals and habitats)。 。。。more

This book is cute and has rich language。 It is a great book to teach counting to students。 I would use this book to reinforce a math lesson and also put it in math stations as well。 The book is not one of the math books that are plain but it actually has a great story to it as well as the math concept。

The second title, How Many Legs? (Hodder Children's Books, February 5, 2015), poses the question seen in the title repeatedly。 You become so captivated by the guests and their companions appearing, counting, while important, is secondary to the splendid array of arrivals。 It's a participatory party and all are invited。 You simply open the book。My full recommendation: http://librariansquest。blogspot。com/2。。。 The second title, How Many Legs?
